Privacy Policy

Verreful (“we”, “us”) is a personal wine collection app provided by FD & BM Consulting LLC, a California limited liability company, which is the data controller for the information described here. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it. Questions: support@verreful.com.

Privacy summary

We respect your privacy. Verreful collects only what is needed to run your cellar: the email address, username, and date of birth you give us at sign-up, the wine and cooler details you enter yourself, the label or menu photos you choose to scan (read by our processing providers and then discarded), the country your sign-up came from (for the legal drinking age), and a technical report if the app crashes. We do not sell your personal data, we do not show third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Your data is used strictly to provide and sync your personal wine collection across your devices, and you can delete all of it in the app at any time.

What we collect

• Account details — email address, username, and date of birth (used only to confirm you are of legal drinking age).
• Your collection — the wines, coolers, ratings, tasting notes, reminders, and drinking history you add to the app.
• Photos you scan — pictures of wine labels or restaurant menus you take inside the app, used solely to identify the wines in them.
• Preferences — your taste-profile answers, language, and display settings.
• Country — detected automatically when you sign up (from your network or device region, never asked), used to apply the right legal drinking age and to understand where Verreful is used.
• Diagnostics & usage — if the app crashes, it sends us a technical report (the error, the screen, your device platform, and app version) so we can fix it; we also count feature usage (for example, how many scans happen per day) to run and improve the service. Neither is used for advertising.
• Website waitlist — if you join the waitlist on this site, we store your email address and the approximate region the signup came from (country and state/region as the network reported them at that moment — never your city, address, precise location, or IP), to tell you about early access and to plan where Verreful opens first. You can unsubscribe at any time.

How scans are processed

When you scan a label or menu, the photo is sent to two service providers to read and interpret it: Google Cloud Vision (text extraction) and Anthropic Claude (interpreting the text into a wine identification). Photos are used only for this purpose — they are processed and not stored on our servers; we keep only the extracted text and the resulting wine identification. Photos are never used for advertising and are never sold to anyone.

What we never do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show third-party advertising.
• We do not share your collection or tasting history with anyone unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Storage, security & retention

Your data is encrypted in transit and stored on servers we rent in the United States. If you use Verreful from outside the United States — including the European Union or Türkiye — your data is transferred to and processed there, and by using the Service you consent to that transfer; we protect it with the safeguards described in this section. Internal access is role-based and limited to what is needed to operate the service, and administrative actions are logged. We keep your data while your account exists; accounts that never verify their email address are deleted automatically after 7 days. We use an email provider only to send you verification and password-reset codes.

Your data rights and account deletion

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time.

• In-app deletion: open Profile → Delete account in the app and confirm with your password. This is permanent and takes effect immediately: your email address, username, date of birth, profile, preferences, taste profile, and every wine, cooler, rating, note, reminder, drinking history, scan, poll, friendship, and club membership you entered are deleted from our live database, and your device is signed out everywhere.
• Email request: if you cannot access the app, email support@verreful.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” from the address on the account. We will confirm your identity and permanently delete your data within 30 days. Use the same address to ask for a copy of your data.

What remains after deletion. Nothing that identifies you. Two kinds of record are kept with your account reference removed, so they can no longer be linked to you: the service’s own activity journal (used for integrity and abuse prevention) and technical crash reports. Facts about a wine that other members also hold stay in the shared catalogue, because they describe the wine, not you. A club you led passes to its longest-standing remaining member; a club with no other members is dissolved with your account. Backups that may still contain your data are overwritten in the normal rotation within 30 days.

We honor the rights granted under the GDPR (EU), KVKK (Türkiye), and CCPA (California) — access, correction, portability, and erasure — regardless of where you live.

Age

Verreful is intended only for people of legal drinking age in their country (21+ in the United States, 18+ in Türkiye). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below that age.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will note it in the app and update the date at the top of this page.

Verileriniz yalnızca kişisel şarap koleksiyonunuzu cihazlarınız arasında sunmak ve eşitlemek için kullanılır; hepsini istediğiniz zaman uygulama içinden silebilirsiniz.

Neler topluyoruz

• Hesap bilgileri — e-posta adresi, kullanıcı adı ve doğum tarihi (yalnızca yasal içki içme yaşında olduğunuzu doğrulamak için).
• Koleksiyonunuz — uygulamaya eklediğiniz şaraplar, soğutucular, puanlar, tadım notları, hatırlatıcılar ve içme geçmişi.
• Taradığınız fotoğraflar — uygulama içinde çektiğiniz etiket veya menü fotoğrafları; yalnızca içlerindeki şarapları tanımlamak için kullanılır.
• Tercihler — damak tadı profiliniz, dil ve görünüm ayarlarınız.
• Ülke — kayıt sırasında otomatik tespit edilir (ağ veya cihaz bölgesinden, asla sorulmaz); doğru yasal içki yaşını uygulamak ve Verreful’nın nerede kullanıldığını belirlemek için kullanılır.
• Tanılama ve kullanım — uygulama hata verir ya da yanıt vermezse bize teknik bir rapor gönderir (hata, ekran, cihaz platformu ve uygulama sürümü), böylece düzeltebiliriz; hizmeti devam ettirmek ve geliştirmek için özellik kullanımını da sayarız (örneğin günde kaç tarama yapıldığı). Hiçbiri reklam için kullanılmaz.
• Web sitesi bekleme listesi — bu sitedeki listeye katılırsanız, e-posta adresinizi ve kaydın geldiği yaklaşık bölgeyi (o anda ağın bildirdiği ülke ve eyalet/bölge — asla şehriniz, adresiniz, konumunuz veya IP adresiniz değil) erken erişim haberleri ve Verreful’nın önce nerede açılacağını planlamak için saklarız. İstediğiniz zaman listeden çıkabilirsiniz.

Taramalar nasıl işlenir

Bir etiket veya menü taradığınızda fotoğraf, okunup yorumlanması için iki hizmet sağlayıcıya gönderilir: Google Cloud Vision (metin çıkarma) ve Anthropic Claude (metni şarap tanımlamasına dönüştürme). Fotoğraflar yalnızca bu amaçla kullanılır; işlenir ve sunucularımızda saklanmaz — yalnızca çıkarılan metni ve ortaya çıkan şarap tanımlamasını tutarız. Fotoğraflar asla reklam için kullanılmaz ve asla kimseye satılmaz.

Asla yapmadıklarımız

• Kişisel verilerinizi satmayız.
• Üçüncü taraf reklam göstermeyiz.
• Siz açıkça paylaşmayı seçmedikçe koleksiyonunuzu veya tadım geçmişinizi kimseyle paylaşmayız.

Saklama, güvenlik ve veri tutma

Verileriniz aktarım sırasında şifrelenir ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nde kiraladığımız sunucularda saklanır. Verreful’u ABD dışından — Avrupa Birliği veya Türkiye dahil — kullanıyorsanız verileriniz Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'ne aktarılır ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde işlenir; Hizmeti kullanarak bu aktarıma onay vermiş olursunuz ve verilerinizi bu bölümde açıklanan güvencelerle koruruz. İç erişim rol tabanlıdır ve hizmeti işletmek için gereken ile sınırlıdır; yönetimsel işlemler kayıt altına alınır. Verilerinizi hesabınız var olduğu sürece tutarız; e-postasını hiç doğrulamayan hesaplar 7 gün sonra otomatik silinir. E-posta sağlayıcısını yalnızca doğrulama ve parola sıfırlama kodlarını göndermek için kullanırız.

Veri haklarınız ve hesap silme

Hesabınızı ve ona bağlı tüm verileri istediğiniz zaman silebilirsiniz.

• Uygulama içinden silme: uygulamada Profil → Hesabı sil adımlarını takip edin ve parolanızla onaylayın. Bu işlem kalıcıdır ve hemen geçerli olur: e-posta adresiniz, kullanıcı adınız, doğum tarihiniz, profiliniz, tercihleriniz, damak profiliniz ve girdiğiniz her şarap, soğutucu, puan, yazdığınız notlar, hatırlatma, içme geçmişi, tarama, anket, arkadaşlık ve kulüp üyeliği canlı veritabanımızdan silinir ve cihazınız her yerde oturumdan çıkarılır.
• E-posta ile talep: uygulamaya erişemiyorsanız, hesaptaki adresten support@verreful.com adresine “Hesap Silme Talebi” konu satırıyla yazın. Kimliğinizi doğrular ve verilerinizi 30 gün içinde kalıcı olarak sileriz. Verilerinizin bir kopyasını istemek için de aynı adresi kullanın.

Silme sonrası ne kalır. Sizi tanımlayan hiçbir şey. İki tür kayıt, hesap referansı kaldırılmış olarak — yani artık sizinle ilişkilendirilemeyecek biçimde — tutulur: hizmetin kendi etkinlik günlüğü (bütünlük ve kötüye kullanımı önleme için) ve teknik hata raporları. Başka üyelerin de sahip olduğu bir şaraba ilişkin bilgiler ortak katalogda kalır; çünkü sizi değil, şarabı tanımlar. Yönettiğiniz bir kulüp, kalan en eski üyeye geçer; başka üyesi olmayan bir kulüp hesabınızla birlikte kapanır. Verilerinizi hâlâ içerebilecek yedekler olağan döngüde 30 gün içinde üzerine yazılarak silinir.

Nerede yaşıyor olursanız olun GDPR (AB), KVKK (Türkiye) ve CCPA (Kaliforniya) kapsamındaki hakları — erişim, düzeltme, taşınabilirlik ve silme — tanırız.

Yaş

Verreful yalnızca bulunduğu ülkede yasal içki içme yaşında olanlar içindir (ABD’de 21+, Türkiye’de 18+). Bu yaşın altındaki kişilerden bilerek veri toplamayız.

Değişiklikler

Bu politika önemli ölçüde değişirse, bunu uygulamada belirtir ve bu sayfanın başındaki tarihi güncelleriz.
